Subject: Bargaining Request: ETAP

Good Morning, Dianne!

Prior to the roll out of ETAP (Electronic Technical Assistance Program) in Oklahoma, AFGE Local 2505 requests a briefing and bargaining.

Please note that the Union is NOT knee-jerk opposed to such an initiative.

We can see this having a very positive impact in terms of service to the public AND making the workplace environment better for the employees we represent.

For instance, if SSA can move work from one office to another, what about moving work from one office to an employee, who because of family issues, wishes to work at home?

I am representing an employee whom SSA has refused to allow to go part-time because of staffing concerns.

I also understand that there are quite a few employees who wish to work at other offices and who have hardship reassignment request pending. ETAP could allow work to be moved so employees can go part-time and other employees can get their reassignments (hardship or otherwise)!

I look forward to working with SSA on its ETAP initiative!
